Lesson Objective
During this lesson, the learner will learn how to perform a normal takeoff in the glider.

Private Pilot Test Candidate: 14 CFR 61.107(b)(6)(iv)
Content
- Initial ground roll
- glider airborne, but towplane still on ground
- climb-out when both towplane and glider are airborne
Completion Standard
The learner will be able to consistently perform the takeoff without instructor input
Common Errors
- Failure to raise the nose wheel soon enough
- Raising the nose too high and dragging the ail wheel
- Failure to maintain the proper ground track
- Failure to keep the wings level
- Failure to maintain the proper altitude before the tow plane becomes airborne
- Pitch oscillations after liftoff due to over-controlling the elevator
