• Inspecting and connecting the tow rope
• Open Tow Hook
• Close Tow Hook
• Take Up Slack signal
• Ready for Takeoff signal
• Hold Signal
• Start Takeoff

Completion Standard

The learner will be able to explain and perform the launch procedures and signals. 

Common Errors

• Thumbs-up before airbrakes are closed and locked
• Wing runner holding the wings level before receiving a thumbs-up
• Wing runner giving the takeoff signal before the glider pilot gives the rudder waggle
• Wing runner pushing or pulling on the wing tip during the takeoff roll.
