8.8 - Unusual Attitude Recovery

Lesson Objective

During this lesson, the learner will learn the concepts of recovering from an unusual attitude upset without overstressing the glider.

Content

  • If the nose is up, get it down, then level the wings. 
  • If the nose is down, level the wings first, then raise the nose. 

Completion Standard

The learner will recognize and recover from any unusual attitude using smooth and coordinated control inputs, without losing excessive altitude or exceeding the flight limitations of the glider.
