During this lesson, the learner will learn two different ways to deal with simultaneous failure of both the glider and tow plane's release mechanisms.

Break the rope
Landing on Tow

Completion Standard

The learner will be able to describe the procedures to break the rope and how to land on tow. There are no test standards in the United States that require this ability to be demonstrated. There are also no documented cases of this type of emergency in the last 50 years.
