Lesson Objective
During this lesson, the learner will fly a modified pattern to compensate for the extra sink rate caused by fully open airbrakes.

Pre-Solo pilot (Student Pilot and Transition Pilots): 14 CFR 61.87(i)(9)(Emergency procedures and equipment malfunctions)
Private Pilot Test Candidate: 14 CFR 61.107(b)(6)(x)(Emergency operations)
Content
- Tighten the pattern, using higher angles relative to the ground.
- Don't touch down with full airbrakes if the wheel brake is connected to the full spoilers.
Completion Standard
The learner will fly a pattern and landon the runway with the airbrakes fully open while maintaining the desired airspeed within +10/-5 knots.
