Lesson Objective
During this lesson, the learner will use a forward slip to control the glide slope on base and final. The learner will use a forward slip instead of airbrakes to regulate the descent rate in the pattern.

Private Pilot Test Candidate: 14 CFR 61.107(b)(6)(x)(Emergency operations)

- Instructor demonstrates a no-airbrake pattern and landing
- Make sure the pattern is not so low that you won't make it to the runway.
Completion Standard
The learner will land the glider using only a slip to control your descent rate while maintaining the desired airspeed within +10/-5 knots.
